Aqualime Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, crooked trunk covered in thin, knobbly, burgundy bark, and inside, the dense wood is black with white speckles.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with sparse amounts of large, oval-shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of emerald that gradient shifts to aquamarine at the top.

In early spring, it produces a handful of giant, ashy green blossoms with umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cotton.

In late autumn it produces , long, narrow fruit. The clammy cyan skin is thick and edible when cooked; it is spicy, and the very soft hazel flesh is savoury and sticky. The silver seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
