Copperleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 49 meters (160.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 259 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in fine, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, tiny, perforated leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in copper and grey varieties.

In late summer it forms giant, caramel aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
