Clinging Scarlet Vine

This small vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 5 feet (1.5 meters) and growing as high as 475 feet (144.8 meters).

It takes 3 months for the red stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are smooth and woody.

The slender, pointed, rough leaves reach up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length. They are bronze and dark grey, and have tattered edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thousands of average lime flowers.
