Burgundy Bog Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In bogs, and In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is extremely resilient.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores.
