Clinging Pine??

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 28 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white with black speckles.

The thin clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small bunches of miniature, needle-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in yellow and cyan varieties.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of large, red blossoms with 2 pointed petals. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like warm milk.

In late summer it produces tiny, long, narrow fruit. The crispy cream skin is peel-able and bitter and savoury, and the soft black flesh is sweet and juicy. The yellow seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
The sap is pastel green.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
