Copperwood

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 16 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, curved stems covered in rough, silver bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches are short and slender with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, cylindrical, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are green and grey, rigid and waxy.

It produces handfuls of medium-sized, copper flowers with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a fairly strong scent that smells like perfume. In mid-summer it forms giantdark yellow berries.


Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
