Azure Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, light gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow-brown.

The small handful of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of small, very thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are azure and bold blue.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of large, dark grey blossoms with finger-like petals. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like perfume.

In early winter it produces , long, curved fruit. The smooth blue skin is thick and edible when roasted; it is overwhelmingly bitter, and the soft azure flesh is sweet and oily. The deep yellow seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
