Copperleaf

This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 80 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several knobbly, angular stems covered in knobbly, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, wide, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid olive or copper, with dark brown edges, durable and soft.

In mid-summer it produces lots of tiny, lime flowers with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like warm milk.
