Emerald Crescent Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On trees.
It is big, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is overwhelmingly strong.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores.
