Purple Spine Caudiciform

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 33 feet (10.1 meters) tall. The wispy stem is moss green, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid florescent purple spines. The thick, gnarled, red trunk can grow to as much as 33 feet (10.1 meters) in diameter. Its ashy green branches trail down towards the ground.

The smooth-edged, long, narrow leaves are black and yellow. They are rigid, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are purple in the center, bright orange in the middle and florescent purple at the edges grows at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. It has an overpowering scent that smells like warm cookies.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the white flesh is slimy, and the bright orange sap is thin.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
