Carambola Cactus

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 41 feet (12.5 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 4 very thin stems. Each stem is pink-red, and is covered in thousands of rigid green spines. The cuboid body is gray-green, and is covered in brittle green spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 31 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with sky blue petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of tightly layered narrow petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like cigarette smoke.

The cactus's skin is thick, the caramel flesh is rubbery, and the hazel sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
