Coniwrap Vinefruit

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wonky trunk covered in hard, knobbly, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale brown-grey.

The small bunches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, wispy leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are silver at the bottom and dark brown with copper patches at the top.

In early spring, it produces thousands of small, gold blossoms with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like a damp log.

In early autumn it produces , slender, 5 pointed fruit. The crispy orange skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft olive flesh is extremely salty and very dry. The red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
