Bronzeberry Tree

This enormous fruit tree grows up to 75 feet (22.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 85 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in thick, ridged, dark brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small amounts of small, thick leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid bronze with gold lines.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of tiny, sky blue blossoms with oval-shaped petals. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like fermented fruit.

In late autumn it produces small, wide fruit. The clammy magenta skin is delicate and sour, and the soft purple flesh is sweet and oily. The bright red seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
