Copper Spine Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 3 wide stems. Each stem is light brown and copper, and is dotted with small hazel spines. The mushroom-shaped body is gray-green, and is covered in copious amounts of fine, silver, hair-like spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 35 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are generally cyan; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grows at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. It has a strong scent that smells like warm cookies.

The cactus's skin is delicate, the azure flesh is sticky, and the peach sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
