Aquafruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 58 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in silky, burgundy bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, oval-shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid peach with bronze lines.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, dark brown blossoms with 6 kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, long, curved fruit. The soft aquamarine skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy red flesh is sweet and very juicy. The caramel seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
