Aquafruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 30 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in thin, rough, silver and white bark, and inside, the flexible wood is dark brown.

The tangled mess of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of giant, fan-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in lime, pink and brilliant purple varieties.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, sky blue blossoms with 8 heart-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like new carpet.

In early summer it produces tiny, oval fruit. The clammy azure skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy sky blue flesh is bitter and sour and very juicy. The bronze seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
