Copperneedle

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. Its copper stems grow in bunches of 8 and are very thin and straight, and the miniature, emerald leaves are needle-like with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Each stem splits 2 to 4 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 17 cm (6.7 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of ashy orange. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of handfuls of raised, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like old books, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
