Emerald Clump Moss

This lime green moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In damp forests, On trees, and In moorlands.
It is massive, growing up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is overwhelmingly tough.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
