Copper Spine Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is yellow-green, and is covered in dozens of flexible red spines. The bubbly leaves are slate at the bottom and red with white lines at the top. Large amounts of them grow on round, gray and moss green branches that trail down to the ground. The leaves are frail, and do not detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid sky blue petals decorated with copper dots and a lime central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 23 curved petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like grass cuttings.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the blood red flesh is rough, and the orange sap is thin.
