Golden Crescent Moss

This gold moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In marshes.
It is huge, growing up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is overwhelmingly flimsy; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.
