Crimson Muskplant
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The tapering stem is moss green, and is dotted with small intense green spines. The wavy, orange trunk can grow to as much as 3 feet (91.4 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Its gray-green branches are short stubs and start growing a quarter of the way up the stem.
The very large amounts of smooth-edged, asymmetrical leaves are generally white. They are durable, and take little effort to detach.
It is quick growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are crimson at the sides and deep yellow at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of tightly layered narrow petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like musk.
The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the white flesh is smooth, and the blood red sap is thin.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
