Crimson Muskplant

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The tapering stem is moss green, and is dotted with small intense green spines. The wavy, orange trunk can grow to as much as 3 feet (91.4 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Its gray-green branches are short stubs and start growing a quarter of the way up the stem.

The very large amounts of smooth-edged, asymmetrical leaves are generally white. They are durable, and take little effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are crimson at the sides and deep yellow at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of tightly layered narrow petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like musk.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the white flesh is smooth, and the blood red sap is thin.
