Copperleaf

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 48 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous thick, wavy stems covered in thin, smooth, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are very short and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of huge, thick, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are copper and aquamarine, resistant and soft.

It produces handfuls of tiny, caramel flowers with perforated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like varnish. In late winter it forms largebold orange, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
