Crimson Spiral Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In rainy mountain ranges, On trees, and In marshes.
It is big, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is extremely hardy.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores.
