Bluevine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 61 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, crooked stems covered in thick, silky, black bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, long, narrow, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are silver with sky blue tips, delicate and crispy.

In early summer it produces dozens of large, violet blossoms with wide petals. They fall easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like baby powder.

In late winter small triangular fruits ripen. The hairy beige skin is thick and inedible, and the soft brilliant blue flesh is salty and sticky. The hazel seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
The grains are bitter, but very healthy and can be used to make numerous baked goods.
It can survive a long time without water.
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
