Aquafruit Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, yellow bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are silver with sky blue tips.

In early spring, it produces bunches of medium-sized, purple blossoms with 4 pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like mint.

In late summer it produces , umbrella-shaped fruit. The soft gold skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft brilliant blue flesh is spicy and very juicy. The blood red seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
