Burgundy Crescent Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On trees, and In marshes.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly sturdy; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
