Amber Puff Grass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This small, pink-red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The perforated stalks grow in thick clumps that are strong and they spread and grow quickly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, amber puff.

During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of giant grains.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
