Silkwood Tree

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 74 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in thin, silky, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is dark brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of smooth, giant, long, tapering leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red or aquamarine, with gold splotches.

In late summer it forms large, amber berries.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
