Amber Spire Succulent
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 53 feet (16.2 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is brown, and is dotted with small black spines. It has a straight, very thick, grey trunk atop a thick ball of smooth, exposed roots. The branches are narrow and burgundy and are tall, rigid and upright.
The jagged-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are found in amber and purple varieties. They are hardy, but do not detach easily.
It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with turquoise petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like wet dog.
The caudiciform's skin is thick, the subtle red flesh is leathery, and the bold purple sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
