Aurelia Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, twisting trunk covered in thin, rough, brown-green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black with white speckles.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of large, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either lime, or light brown with azure edges.

In early spring, it produces many clusters of tiny, dull blue blossoms with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like cheese.

In late summer it produces small, long, curved fruit. The soft azure skin is thin and extremely bitter, and the slightly crunchy light brown flesh is sour and very juicy. The brilliant orange seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
