Clinging Mahogany

This average-sized tree grows up to 40 meters (131.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 519 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, wavy trunk covered in fine, silky, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The numerous branches are very long and thick and are covered with handfuls of leathery, huge, stiff, pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are blue and yellow.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, beige, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
