Bloodfire Cactus

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall. The wide stem is yellow-green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible florescent red spines. The very thick, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 18 feet (5.5 meters) in diameter. Its gray branches are long and thin.

The tattered-edged, pleated leaves are azure and amber. They are rigid, but detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 22 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are slate on the underside and crimson on the top grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of raised narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like glue.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the bronze flesh is smooth, and the gold sap is thin.
