Crimson Fan Cactus

This average-sized cactus grows up to 72 feet (21.9 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 4 fan-like stems. Each stem is red, and is covered in handfuls of flexible turquoise spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 8 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are vivid orange on the edges and crimson at the center grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is made up of 4 petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like ashes.

The cactus's skin is thick, the blue flesh is sticky, and the purple sap is thin.
