Rubberhazel

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 47 feet (14.3 meters) and growing as high as 69 feet (21.0 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.

It takes 2 years for the moss green and grey stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are smooth and rubbery.

The thick, smooth leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) in length. They are slate on the sides and hazel at the center, and have rounded edges.


It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles

The leaves have medicinal properties.
