Heartleaf Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In bogs, On rotten logs, and In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is extremely durable; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
