Copper Spire Succulent

This small caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The spear shaped stem is copper, and is covered in brittle bronze spines. It has a straight, bulbous, gold trunk atop a very thick stilted platform of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are stocky and red and trail down to the ground.

The wavy-edged, asymmetrical leaves are either lime or amber, with cream zig-zags. They are sturdy, but take some effort to detach.

It is very fast growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with muted red petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of several raised, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like lavender.

The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the slate flesh is smooth, and the white sap is thin.
