Crimson Crescent Moss

This vivid red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In damp forests.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is extremely delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
