Sunfire Blossom
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This giant flower grows up to 11.3 feet (3.5 meters) tall. Its orange-yellow stem is wispy and splits into dozens of branching stems at the top, and the large, blood red and orange leaves are 9 pointed with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
A single giant flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 117 cm (46.1 inches) wide, with lilac petals and a light brown central disk. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are hardy.
It has a fairly strong scent that smells like a damp log, and it has lots of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
It is suitable for making strong rope
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
