Emerald Bog Moss

This gray moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In marshes, and In bogs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly flexible.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
