Twilight Vine

This big flower grows up to 3.1 feet (94 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is wispy, and the giant, purple leaves are long, narrow with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

6 to 8 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 36 cm (14.2 inches) wide, with petals that are faded purple at the sides and blood red at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 52 curved petals. They are sturdy.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like fresh linen, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
