Black Bog Moss

This black moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In bogs.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly robust.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores.
