Peach Spine Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized cactus grows up to 52 feet (15.8 meters) tall. The very thin stem is gray-green, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid peach spines.
It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of slate grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 4 petals in raised layers. It has an overpowering scent that smells like alcohol.
The cactus's skin is thick, the faded red flesh is sticky, and the blood red sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It commonly grows in large patches.
