Azure Spineleaf
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This large leaf succulent grows up to 86 feet (26.2 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is yellow, and is covered in handfuls of flexible azure spines. The smooth-edged, very thin leaves are copper and aquamarine. Handfuls of them grow from the base in a random bunch. The leaves are rigid, and are very difficult to pull away.
It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid cream petals decorated with vibrant green dots and a blue central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 29 raised, round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like something putrid.
