Clinging Coconutvine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This huge fruit tree grows up to 61 feet (18.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 35 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a sturdy, wonky trunk covered in delicate, waxy, black bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown.

The small clumps of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of large, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are silver and cyan.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of small, cyan blossoms with needle-like petals. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like coconut.

In mid-autumn it produces , long, narrow fruit. The soft pink skin is tough and sweet, and the slightly crunchy blood red flesh is sweet and spicy and juicy. The olive seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
