Burgundy Mountain Moss

Moss type: Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainy mountain ranges.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very flimsy; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores.


It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It can survive a long time without water.
