Crimson Spine Cactus

This small cactus grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The tapering stem is emerald, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid slate spines. The spherical body is copper, and is covered in thousands of flexible crimson spines.

It is slow growing, taking 32 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with purple petals and a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing once every 5 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 55 petals. It has a weak scent that smells like rotten egg.

The cactus's skin is thin, the dull red flesh is leathery, and the faded orange sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
