Clinging Indigo Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 630 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in thick, cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the soft wood is white.

The abundance of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of waxy, miniature, thin leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of blue or indigo that gradient shifts to white at the top.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, olive blossoms with finger-like petals. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like coffee.

In late summer it forms large, black, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It can survive a very long time without water.
