Cliffvine
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 60 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in smooth, light brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is light brown.
The small handful of branches are very short and thin and are covered with large amounts of large, wide leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in beige and aquamarine varieties.
In early spring, it produces thousands of large, aquamarine blossoms with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like musk.
In early summer it produces small, needle-like fruit. The fuzzy yellow skin is thick and bitter and salty, and the slightly crunchy sky blue flesh is sweet and savoury and very dry. The cream seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
