Waterstem Tree

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 120 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, twisting trunk covered in fine, waxy, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is yellow-brown.

The thin clumps of branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of soft, large, long, tapering leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are green and vibrant yellow.

In late summer it forms tiny, gold, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
