Emerald Splitcup
Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This huge flower grows up to 13.4 feet (4.1 meters) tall. Its emerald stem is wispy and splits into numerous branching stems halfway up, and the tiny, emerald leaves are long, narrow with jagged edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.
Each stem splits 5 to 9 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 37 cm (14.6 inches) wide, with alternating petals of brown and orange, with a cream central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of many widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.
It has a weak scent that smells like freshly washed clothes, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
